Welcome to Sportal's Bundaberg Rum Fantasy AFL (Salary Cap) Competition. Sportal's Bundaberg Rum Fantasy AFL is an exciting and interactive competition where your role as coach and selector of your own league team is to select a competitive team to match up against your family, friends and other AFL supporters.
This competition is based around the 2010 AFL Premiership (Home and Away) Season to be played between March and September.
In your role as coach, manager and selector, you will select real players to include in your Fantasy AFL team. You will be allocated a salary cap of $7.5 million ($7,500,000) to spend on players. You are not allowed to exceed your salary cap when selecting your team. The value of players will fluctuate depending on their recent form from Round 3 onwards.
How well your selected fantasy team performs depends on the real, actual performances of your selected players in each game. Your players earn fantasy points for statistics such as goals, kicks, handballs and tackles.
The aim of the competition is to score the most fantasy points over the duration of the season. Fantasy AFL statistics and scores will be processed and displayed at the completion of each round. You can check in throughout the competition to trade non-performing players for in-form players and to measure how well your team is performing in your League, or overall.
The overall winner of the competition will win a Sportal prize pack including supporter's gear.

When you register your Fantasy AFL team, you can elect to start a private league, join an existing private league or be entered in a public league.
If you opt to start a private league, you will be asked to enter a name for your league. On the 'Your League' page, you will have the opportunity to enter the email addresses of friends, family and colleagues inviting them to join your league.
If you are responding to a friend's invitation and joining a private league, you should enter the league number that was supplied to you.
League competition will feature a head to head fixture based competition for each league.
Leagues will be finalised prior to the commencement of Round 4. All valid teams without a league will be allotted into public leagues or private leagues.
Finalised leagues will have a minimum of 8 fantasy teams and a maximum of 16 fantasy teams. Any leagues with less than 8 teams will have other teams added. Similarly if there are more than 16 teams in a league, some teams will be moved to balance the numbers in other leagues.
A fantasy 'regular season' will be played between rounds 4 to 18, where teams in the league play against each other. The league standings will be determined by the player with the most 'premiership points' gained from head to head league matches. The league ladder will be ranked on the number of wins accumulated across the regular season. If multiple teams have the same number of wins, the teams will then be ranked by percentage.
From rounds 19 to 22, an 8 team finals series will be played between teams ranked 1 to 8. The finals system will be identical to the actual AFL final 8 system.
The winner of the 'virtual' grand final will be the winner of the league.
The winner of the overall standings in the Sportal's Bundaberg Rum Fantasy AFL Competition will be the winner of the competition.
The overall winner of the competition from Australia or New Zealand will win a Sportal prize pack including supporter's gear.
The winner of the competition will be the entrant who at the completion of competition has accumulated the most fantasy points. In the event that two or more competitors have accumulated the same number of fantasy points, the winner will be the competitor who has accumulated the highest number of fantasy points and used the lowest number of trades. If a winner can still not be determined, the winner will be the competitor who has accumulated the highest number of fantasy points, used the lowest number of trades and had the highest score in the final round.
